Over our second half of the autumn term, we are continuing our focus of Geography. This time, we will be looking at something slightly closer to home: Coasts.
We will find out where to find various coasts, how they are made, their features and so much more. In our English, we will read shocking newspaper reports that focus on the hazards and dangers of building near cliffs.
As we are still reconnecting with school life, we know that outdoor learning helps the children to learn effectively, whilst taking risks. Even though the weather is set to turn, we will still be getting outside as often as possible. These activities will often link with our foundation subjects.
Our PE will focus on Dance this half term, as well as our coaching sessions with Mr White.
Social Media and online life has played a huge role in all our lives over the last year. We will look at how these online platforms have helped during a really tough time, but also the implications we may face with them. As our children are now reaching an age where many parents are starting to consider giving them more freedom online, and perhaps a mobile phone, we will be designing phone cases in DT. The DT aspects of this project will focus on the textile skills needed to design an attractive and functional product. We will also use various ways to promote healthy phone habits on these cases. More to be revealed shortly!
With mental wellbeing being the most important focus for our children currently, our new PSHE curriculum will focus on Being Me! We will explore our own strengths and talents, whilst celebrating our and others' uniqueness.
