Dear Parent/Carer                                          

As part of our topic work on rivers, we are taking the Year 4 children to Holmebrook Valley Park in Chesterfield. The trip for 4WW and 4KF will be on Thursday 15th June 2023 and 4PD on Friday 16^th June 2023. The children will be involved in a number of activities, including going into Holme Brook to check how fast the water flow is, pond dipping and orienteering. We will also have a designated member of staff who will be showing us around the Park and will provide interesting facts and information about the Park and Brook.

The children will be leaving at approximately 8:45am so need to be in school by 8:30am at the latest and need to come in via the playground as usual. They will return to school by no later than 3:30pm.

The children will need to be in old clothes that you are happy for them to get dirty/muddy in and wellies. Please also provide a warm and/or waterproof coat. It would also be a good idea to provide your child with a change of clothes/shoes for the journey back - particularly socks!

A packed lunch and a drink will be required for the trip (please no glass bottles, fizzy pop or chocolate). If your child is entitled to free school meals, please notify the school office at least 3 weeks before if you require a packed lunch to be provided.

The total cost for this visit is £18. This figure includes transport to and from the Park, day rate fee for the Park, use of the facilities and a member of staff.
